Our next demonstration on Tuesday, 18th February, was meant to be given by well-known local artist Phil Clayton, who was to showing us ‘Surprise in Oil’. Unfortunately, due to family illness, Phil cannot be with us, but we have been lucky to find a replacement, Gill Barron, who will be showing us ‘Acrylic Painting Techniques’,
Gill describes herself as a ‘painter of everything’. Starting life as a signwriter, she has travelled widely and has painted in India, Andalucia, Cyprus, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria. She paints a wide range of subjects, including portraits and postcards, botany and gardens, murals and bus-shelters. She has also published a book, Compendium of Acrylic Painting Techniques.
Come along to the Woodmead Halls in Hill Road, Lyme Regis DT7 3PG from 2pm to 4pm. All are welcome. Free to members of Lyme Regis Art Society, visitors £5 (this will be refunded if you decide to join the Society).
