LRAS Honorary President
Terry Whitworth has been the Lyme Regis Art Society’s Honorary President since 1990 and has taken an active interest in the society all this time.
After training in Graphic Design and Illustration at Twickenham College of Art during the 1970s, Terry worked for a few years in design studios in London, including Royles of Islington, designing logos, stationery and brochures for international clients.
In 1982, Terry moved with his young family from London, to Dorset, and continued his career as a freelance designer and illustrator, and acquired a range of illustration work from UK publishers. For several years he received many commissions for calendars and greeting cards, producing paintings and drawings mainly featuring well known architectural and landscape subjects in Britain and abroad. For most of the ’90s, Terry was based at his gallery at Broadwindsor, working on commercial commissions as well as his own paintings.
He continues to produce a variety of work and enjoys the disciplines of precise architectural representation, when required, as well as the freedom to experiment in a whole range of styles and techniques with his paintings.
